Spicy Love Spell Hot Chocolate
Is there anything better in winter than a comforting cup of hot chocolate? Curling up on the couch with a blanket and rich chocolatey goodness in your hands is hard to beat.
For me, it's a necessity to have a hot cocoa mix in my house. It’s my go-to-evening treat, so when I turned more to bringing plant magick and kitchen witchery into my life, the hot cocoa mix was one of the first recipes I spell-worked.
And what better intention could you go for when spell-working hot chocolate than love? Not only do the ingredients lend their usefulness to this intention, but I also feel the winter is a month we all could use a little extra love.
Whether you need a bit of self-love, create some extra intimacy with your partner, or even just feel deep belonging and affection with the universe; this recipe is simple and effective.
Ingredients and Their Magickal Properties
As always, the purpose is important. Therefore understanding the why’s is essential when creating the recipe. It’s essentially impossible to properly activate and bring in intention to your ingredients if you don’t understand the purposes of the components.
If you are new to activating herbs and bringing intention to your spellwork, I recommend following my activation article. Eventually, activating herbs and bringing in intention becomes second nature, but this is a great place to start.
For this recipe, we focus on the magickal properties of cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, and chili powder. Cocoa powder, rich in antioxidants, has long been associated with love and nurturance. Like cocoa, cinnamon is also an aphrodisiac; however, it also lends itself to improving communication skills (yes, even how you think about yourself in self-love spells) and ensuring success in the spell. Cinnamon also has the power of healing which is excellent when focusing on self-love. Cayenne helps remove negative energy; combining the chili powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne add warming and heat to invigorate passion and help speed up the effects.
Cocoa - Nurturing, Love
Cinnamon - Strengthens spells (success), Love, Lust, and Healing
Chili Powder - Passion, strengthen spells, love
Cayenne - Repels Negative Energy, Love
Nutmeg - Love
Note: When I do make a cup of hot cocoa from this mix, I also like to add a bit of vanilla extract. Vanilla is also excellent for love, passion, vitality, and happiness.
