London Fog: A Love Spell
If you've been around my page for a while, you'll know I love a good love spell. Not the stereotypical love spell used to externally bind another to you, but instead a bit to promote love within and around.
Here is a thing that many people miss about love spells; they don't have to be used on one particular individual or nefariously.
Want people who are around you to be reminded of the reasons they are loved? Love Spell.
Have you been extra hard on yourself lately and need a reminder of how awesome you are? Love Spell.
Want to romanticize your life, or help others do the same? Love. Spell.
See, there is a good reason I have plenty of love spells in my repertoire. The only thing that makes them better? Is by turning it into a warm cozy drink.
Ingredients and Their Magickal Properties
As I always mention in my recipe posts, the purpose of what I do as a kitchen witch relies on knowledge and intention.
Yes, this recipe will still taste delicious without transforming it into a spell. However, knowing your ingredients is important if you wish to utilize this recipe to help change your mind, body, and spirit.
Below is a list of each added ingredient and its extraordinary power for this recipe. Please note that this is not every magickal benefit of this plant or herb, just the areas I believe should be focused on for this specific recipe.
Tea
We hear the word tea a lot nowadays, of course, it's used as a term for gossip. I feel like this is a bit fitting since tea's magickal abilities fall under courage and strength. Generally, if something is triggering to you, it's time to take some of that courage and look inward for some shadows.
If you choose to use loose-leaf tea here, you do have an opportunity to do some tea-leave readings as well.
Now you may be thinking, what does this have to do with a love spell? Well, sometimes it takes strength and courage to love. Whether it be yourself, or others. True loving means bringing to light aspects we don't like about ourselves (or may not like about others, that reflect ourselves) and learning to love them anyways.
Magickal Uses: Strength, Courage, Divination.
Bergamont
Our most minor ingredient is our powerhouse for this love spell.
Bergamont has another folk name; the love fruit. It has been used for centuries in love. Various spells and divination were used to help those find and attract their true love.
Associated with Gaia and the sun, oranges provide strong fire and earth energy. This helps us create a balance of calm and happiness.
We can utilize the bergamot in this recipe for not only its obvious love properties but to focus on happiness and calm. As mentioned above in tea, loving isn't always as easy as we'd like it to be; by leaning on oranges, we can approach it with a calming joy.
Magickal Powers: happiness, love, calm, success, prosperity, friendship, purification.
Vanilla
Our fermented orchid, Vanilla holds associations with the feminine, water, and Venus; therefore, it is all about tuning into those emotions of love.
It's not all about love though; vanilla can also create desire, sweetening or softening situations, and comfort. It is said that vanilla will restore lost energy and improve the mind, helping release you of that self-hatred.
Honestly, if you are using this spell for self-love, then focusing on the vanilla's desire abilities will be a huge help. Falling in lust with yourself is a sure-fire path to self-love and romanticizing your life.
Magickal Powers: Soften, Luck, Love

How to Implement Magick into the Recipe
*When adding your ingredients, remember to focus on the intention of the ingredient while working with it. (I.E., when cracking your eggs, focus on the intention of your new beginning. Not just the idea, but how do they make you feel? How does having these things in your life manifest?
I also recommend using the intentional stirring and speaking method to add to this spell. Simply stir counterclockwise for energies that need to be removed and clockwise for energies that you wish to implement while speaking your incantations (or intention) out loud.
For example, when adding the cinnamon I would stir clockwise three times while speaking to the pot.
Spirit of vanilla, bless this dish with love and comfort.
When the recipe is all said and done, I recommend concentrating on an incantation. Although I always recommend creating your own, as spells tend to be more powerful, you can also use the incantation below:
Through this dish, I bring in the blessings of love. May the universe sweeten my life by allowing myself and those around me to feel the love of the universe and see it within. So as it's been, so as it is, so as it may be.
