Road Opener Quiche

There are few things I love more than a good road opener spell. Combining that with a delicious recipe and bam, top tier kitchen witchcraft if I do say so myself.

Recently I've been feeling stagnant and blocked so figuring out a spell recipe for a road opener was just what I needed. Not only do road opening spells help open doors for opportunities, when done correctly, they allow us to more easily see those opportunities.

Ingredients and Their Magickal Properties

As I always mention in my recipe posts, the purpose of what I do as a kitchen witch relies on knowledge and intention.

Yes, this recipe will still taste delicious without transforming it into a spell. However, knowing your ingredients is highly important if you wish to utilize this recipe to help change your mind, body, and spirit.

Below is a list of each added ingredient and its extraordinary power for this recipe. Please note that this is not every magickal benefit of this plant or herb, just the areas I believe should be focused on for this specific recipe.

Egg

Eggs are a powerhouse. In many recipes they're essentially a requirement and when it comes to magickal uses they are abundant in powers. It's long standing symbolism and lore help remind us of rebirth.

For this recipe, using eggs is the base for our road opener providing us with the intention of a renewed life, a rebirth by bringing us a blessing of new beginnings.

Magickal Powers: Rebirth, Abundance, Fertility, New Beginnings

Heavy Cream

A favorite offering of the fae (and household spirits), provide us full of nourishment physically and spiritually. It can be used to help nourish and enhance any type of spellwork but it's exceptionally great for beauty, love, and prosperity work.

When adding the cream, focus your intention on how this road opener will provide you nourishment in some sense. Will it nurioush your spirituality? Nourish your self love? Nourish your abundance?

If you can't use cream for dietary reasons, alternative milks will work just fine for the recipe but be aware your intention for that particular ingredient might need to be changed.

Magickal Powers: Nourishment, Beauty, Love, Abundance, Healing

Bacon (Pork)

Plants aren't the only ingredient that holds power and intention. The use of bacon in this recipe brings us the power and symbolism of the pig.

Depending on which lore and culture you look at the pig has negative and positive associations with it. The Greeks often sacrificed pigs as offerings however the Egyptians often viewed them as unclean (although there's evidence of them viewing them in a useful and positive light as well).

For the purpose of this spell we are utilizing their positive symbolism of good luck to add an extra oomph to the spell as well as bring us courage to walk through the door. To help us to sniff out the best of the opportunities much like pigs are utilized for finding truffles.

Magickal Powers: Luck, Opportunities, Courage, Abundanxe, Fertility

Onion

A common and humble ingredient in the kitchen onions have a strong history is the occult as well as herbalism.

It's strongest history lies in its use for purification. Breaking hexes, cleansing spaces, protecting.

When you are caramalizing your onions, focus on how they are purifying the energy around you keeping you stagnant. Removing the obstacles from this new opportunity.

Magickal Powers: Protection, Purifying

Paprika - Optional

This is completely optional but I loveeee adding paprika to pretty much any savory spell recipe. It adds a nice kick to the taste buds and the spell.

Using paprika with the intention of speed will help bring your opportunities with more bravado and quickness.

How to Implement Magick into the Recipe

*When adding your ingredients, remember to focus on the intention of the ingredient while working with it. (I.E., when cracking your eggs, focus on the intention of your new beginning. Not just the idea, but how do they make you feel? How does having these things in your life manifest?

I also recommend using the intentional stirring and speaking method to add to this spell. Simply stir counterclockwise for energies that need to be removed and clockwise for energies that you wish to implement while speaking your incantations (or intention) out loud.

For example, when caramalizing the onion I would stir counterclockwise three times while speaking to the pot.

Spirit of onion, bless this dish with cleansing and purification of unwanted, unuseful energies.

When the recipe is all said and done, I recommend concentrating on an incantation. Although I always recommend creating your own, as spells tend to be more powerful, you can also use the incantation below:

Through this dish, I bring in the blessings of new beginnings. I am provided with abundance of opportunities that align with my soul’s purpose. So as it has been, so as it is, so as it may be.
