Apple Brown Butter Blondies: A Spell for Prosperity

When it comes to manifesting prosperity, why not let a little kitchen magick work its charm? These Apple Brown Butter Blondies are more than just a cozy, autumn-inspired treat—they’re a spell for abundance wrapped in warm, golden goodness. Apple, symbolizing growth, wisdom, and harvest, brings in energies of abundance and new opportunities, while butter is known for its nourishing qualities, attracting good fortune and support. Combined with the sweetness of brown sugar, which is perfect for drawing in loving, positive energy, each bite is like a whispered invitation to welcome prosperity into your life.

Creating this spell is as simple as whipping up a batch of blondies, but the magic lies in the intention you set while baking. As you stir, infuse your batter with visions of your goals and dreams taking shape, letting the scent of apple and caramelized brown butter fill your space with warmth and optimism. Baking isn’t just about the ingredients—it’s about weaving your desires into each layer. So, preheat the oven, gather your ingredients, and let’s bake up a batch of prosperity with every golden bite.

Ingredients and Their Magickal Properties - Kitchen Magick

As I always mention in my recipe posts, the purpose of my work as a kitchen witch relies on knowledge and intention.

Yes, this recipe will still taste delicious without transforming it into a spell. However, knowing your ingredients is essential to utilizing this recipe to help change your mind, body, and spirit.

Below is a list of each added ingredient and its extraordinary power for this recipe. Please note that this is not every magical benefit of this plant or herb; these are just the areas I believe should be focused on for this specific recipe.

Apples

Apples are sacred fruits, used as offerings, for divination purposes, and more for centuries. Their folklore spans from the Garden of Eden to temple offerings in Egypt.

Apples are associated with Venus and the water element. Through this association of power, we tap into the idea of apple's powers of fertility. Although in this case, fertility would make one think of it from a biological standpoint. The essence of fertility can be simply fertilizing the soil (or energy) to pave the way to success.

Magickal Powers: Beauty, Fertility, Healing, Love, Youth

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a go-to herb for prosperity. It is well-known for its powers of success and wealth. Cinnamon is associated with Mars and the fire element, so you can assure it will bring your prosperity intention powerfully and quickly.

Magickal Uses: Success, Wealth, Prosperity, Potency

Nutmeg

Firey, and like cinnamon, which is associated with Mars, nutmeg also holds energy of power and potency. However, instead of focusing on success and prosperity, nutmeg is more about good luck and fortune. Still, it is very valuable for paving the way to prosperity.

Magickal Uses: Potency, Power, Good Luck

Butter

Butter is never a wrong ingredient to add in spell recipes, as it intends to be smoother. This means that you can use its energy to smooth out the journey ahead of you or the bumps that could arise when reaching your intention.

Otherwise, butter also holds the energy of abundance, and who doesn't want abundant prosperity?

Magickal Uses: Abundance, Smoothing

*When adding your ingredients, remember to focus on the intention of the ingredient while working with it. (I.E., when adding your butter, focus on the intention of nourishment).

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple

  • 1/2 cup salted butter

  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg, ground

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and prepare an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper or grease.

  2. Make brown butter by adding butter to a small pan and cooking on low heat until nutty-smelling and caramel-colored (approximately 5 minutes). Pour the browned butter into a small mixing bowl and set aside.

(Spirit of butter, bless this dish with abundance)

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients, including spices, and set aside.

(Spirit of cinnamon, bless this dish with prosperity)

(Spirit of nutmeg, bless this dish with luck)

  4. Bring back the bowl containing the butter and add in sugars and vanilla extract. Cream together.

  5. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix until well incorporated.

  6. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

  7. Rustic chop your apples, ensuring they are small enough to cook through in the oven (about 1/4 inch). Pour the apples into the mixture.

(Spirit of apple, bless this dish with fertility)

  8. Pour batter into your prepared baking dish.

  9. Speak the below incantation while placing it in the oven. Bake for 45-55 minutes until cooked through (you can check by sticking a knife in the middle and confirming if any batter remains uncooked).

  10. Eat and serve with the intention of prosperity filling every corner of your life.

(By butter’s warmth and apple’s sweet,

May blessings rise with every treat.

    Prosperity, come near and stay,

    Abundance grows each new day.)
